Assolutamente no, non ne vale la pena, perchè la
Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corp mette a disposizione degli studenti tre metodi per poter utilizzare SolidWorks a casa:
1 - SolidWorks Student Design Kit
Corrisponde ad una licenza di SolidWorks Standard, quindi include tutte le funzionalità della parte CAD per la modellazione, gli assiemi, le messe in tavola. Contiene anche i moduli express per il FEM, la fluido-dinamica, ecc...
Se la scuola ha un numero minimo di licenze (in genere comunque le scuole ne acquistano almeno 45-60) ed ha attiva la manutenzione, ogni studente ha diritto di scaricarla (il numero di licenze è illimitato), ed ha una durata di 365 giorni. Alla scadenza si scarica la nuova versione che a sua volta dura altri 365 giorni.

2 - SolidWorks Student Engineering Kit
E' una licenza di SolidWorks che contiene tutto, ma proprio tutto (alla fine sono le stesse funzionalità che si possono utilizzare in scuola o università - vi rimando a
questo post per vedere quali sono.
Se la scuola ha delle licenze campus ed ha il contratto di manutenzione attivo ha diritto a far scaricare ai suoi studenti un numero di licenze pari a quello in possesso della scuola. La durata della licenza è di 365 giorni. Alla scadenza si scarica la nuova versione che a sua volta dura altri 365 giorni. Potete scaricarla

3 - Prestito della licenza
Se la scuola non ha il contratto di manutenzione attivo, è sufficiente collegare il proprio PC alla rete della scuola, ed utilizzare la funzione prestito di licenza per prelevare una licenza dalla scuola, utilizzandola per un massimo di 6 mesi. In questo caso la licenza viene "sottratta" dal pool di licenze disponibili alla scuola.
Per utilizzare questa funzionalità non è necessario che la scuola disponga di un particolare numero di licenze o di un contratto di manutenzione attivo.

Absolutely not, it's worth it, because Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks Corp provides three methods for students to use SolidWorks at home:
1 - SolidWorks Student Design Kit
Corresponds to a license of SolidWorks Standard, so it includes all the functionality of CAD part modeling, assemblies, drawings. It also contains FEM and computational fluid-dynamics express modules.

3 - License Borrowing
If the school does not have active service subscription contract, you simply connect your PC to the network of the school, and use the borrow functionality to pull off a license and use it for up to 6 months. In this case, the license is "subtracted" from the pool of available licenses to the school.
To use this feature it is not necessary that the school has a particular number of licenses or an active maintenance contract.
