Presentato al SolidWorks World 2011, Live Buildings è un applicativo sviluppato sulla piattaforma 3D EXPERIENCE per il mercato dell'AEC. Dopo 3 anni il prodotto è stato rilasciato a gennaio 2014, ma con un altro nome: CATIA Buildings Space Planning.
Contrariamente alle attese quindi, il prodotto fa parte del brand CATIA e non SolidWorks, ma questo non fa alcuna differenza, in quanto si tratta di applicativo che può essere complementare CATIA ma anche a SolidWorks per la modellazione concettuale degli ambienti: una volta terminata la modellazione il file progetto può essere esportato in IFC, formato che SolidWorks può leggere tranquillamente.

Presented at SolidWorks World 2011, Live Buildings is an application developed on the 3D EXPERIENCE platform for the AEC market. After 3 years the product was released in January 2014, but with a different name: CATIA Buildings Space Planning.
Contrary to expectations, the product is a brand of CATIA, not SolidWorks, but this makes no difference, since this application can be complementary to CATIA or SolidWorks for conceptual design of environments. Once you're finished modeling the project file can be exported to IFC format that SolidWorks can indeed read.
